Lobach, A.C. -- Bellville. A.C. Lobach, son of Capt. Lobach, of this place, died at his home in Indiana, Wednesday, from consumption, aged 29 years and 1 month. His remains were brought here on No. 46 Friday morning. Funeral services under the auspices of Casca Lodge K. of P., were held at the Lutheran church Friday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. A.A. Lobach, Dannie -- Bellville. Dannie, the youngest child of Mr. & Mrs. Leroy Lobach, died on Monday the 18th. inst., after a brief illness, caused by inflammation of the bowels. He was a bright child almost two years old, and was early gathered by the great reaper. Funeral services were largely attended by friends and neighbors on the afternoon of Tuesday, conducted by Rev. Loback [Lobach], Rachel -- Died -- On Saturday, April 5th., at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. L. [Lee] Conley, Mrs. Rachel Loback, in the 86th. year of her age. Lockhart, Aaron Sr. -- Bellville. Aaron Lockhart, Sr., died at his home near this place at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 21, aged 84 years. Mr. Lockhart has been in feeble health for some months, suffering from no disease but a gradual loss of vitality. He was one of the oldest and most respected residents of this community. He was an extensive land owner, possessing several of the finest farms in the Clear Creek Valley. The funeral took place to-day (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. from his late residence. Lockheart, Aaron -- Bellville. On Monday evening, Mr. Aaron Lockheart died at his home, two miles east of Bellville, aged 84 years. Mr. Lockheart was one of the oldest and most highly respected citizens of this vicinity. Lockheart, Abraham -- ABRAHAM LOCKHEART IS CALLED BY DEATH -- One of Bellville's Foremost Citizens Succumbs to Paralysis at Age 55 Years -- Bellville lost one of its most substantial and honored citizens when Abraham M. Lockheart passed away at his home early Saturday morning, aged 55 years, following a stroke of paralysis -- the fifth one he had suffered. The funeral services were held at the Universalist church Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Mr. Bishop, of Columbus, and were attended by scores who paid the final tribute of respect. Mr. Lockheart was born and reared in this vicinity, and 33 years ago was married to Miss Ella Garber. To this union were born two sons and two daughters, one son, Fred, having preceded his father in death about two years ago. He is survived by his wife, son, Aaron, daughters, Mrs. Richard Kochheiser and Miss Martha; one brother, W.C., all of Bellville; and one sister, Mrs. Libbie Simpson of Johnstown, besides a large number of more distant relatives. Mr. Lockheart was widely known and highly esteemed by all who knew him. He was the president of the Bellville Savings Bank and was a member of the Universalist church and of the Knights of Pythias and Masonic Lodge. Lockheart, Mrs. Benjamin -- Mrs. Benjamin Lockheart, mother of Wm. Lockheart, who is caring for his uncle, Aaron Lockheart, died at her home at Trenton, Mo., Monday, aged about 85 years. Lockheart, Mrs. Benjamin -- Bellville. Mrs. Benj. Lockheart, mother of Wm. Lockheart, who is caring for his uncle Aaron Lockheart, died at her home in Trenton, Mo., Monday, aged about 85 years. Lockheart, William C. -- Wm. C. Lockheart, for many years a resident of Bellville and vicinity, died last Saturday at the home of his son, Harry Lockheart, in Crestline, aged 76 years. The remains were brought to Bellville, Tuesday, for interment in the cemetery here. Funeral services were held at the cemetery chapel, conducted by the Rev. J.A. Long, pastor of the First Christian church of Mt. Vernon. Surviving Mr. Lockheart are his wife, Kate Moody Lockheart, and two sons -- Edgar, of St. Louis, Mo., and Harry, of Crestline. The deceased man was the son of Rev. Benjamin Lockheart. He spent the early part of his life in Bellville, and when but a boy enlisted in the U.S. army and served four years in the civil war. Shortly after the war he was united in marriage to Kate Moody, daughter of Captain Miller Moody, for whom Miller Moody post, G.A.R. was named. For a number of years Mr. & Mrs. Lockheart made their home in the west, but removed again to Bellville and resided on the Aaron Lockheart farm, west of town. Loder, James K. -- James K. Loder, formerly a resident of this city, but lately of Fremont, died at the latter city, on the 4th. inst., of typhoid fever. The remains were brought to this city on Saturday and the funeral took place from the residence of Daniel Loder, the father of the deceased, on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Loebs, Mary Ellen "Dolly" (Gregg) -- Mary Ellen Gregg, better known as Dolly Gregg, the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. James Gregg, was born in Bellville, July 28, 1878, died at her home in Cleveland June 20, 1906, aged 27 years, 10 months and 22 days. She was united in marriage with Mr. Frank Loebs, Feb. 4, 1903. She leaves a husband, father, mother, one sister, and seven brothers, to mourn her loss. Loesch, Frank Andrew -- Frank Andrew Loesch died Monday morning at 11 o'clock at his home, 37 Hammond Avenue. He was aged 22 years. He was employed as a patternmaker at the Eclipse Stove works and was an excellent workman well liked by all with whom he came in contact. Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Mr. Friemuth of St. Paul's Lutheran church, at the residence of his uncle, Jacob Loesch, 37 Hammond Avenue, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. [Mansfield News: 16 July 1901, Vol. 17, No. 115]

Loesch, Marie M. -- Marie M. Loesch, 83, formerly of 430 Sturges Ave., died Sunday, December 10, 2000, at Lexington Court Care Nursing Center after a long illness. Miss Loesch was born July 13, 1917 in Mansfield and was a life resident. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1936 and from Ohio University in 1940. Marie did graduate work at Ashland, Wooster, Ohio University, Wittenberg, Ohio State University and Bucknell University. She received the Martha Holden Jennings Scholarship for Outstanding Teacher from 1968 to 1969. She retired from Mansfield City Schools after 28 years, beginning in 1953 at Appleseed School. She also worked as a clerk for Selective Service during World War II and was a secretery for Floyd Dent for the Boy Scouts of America. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bessie L. Loesch; a brother, Richard Loesch and a sister, Lillian Ernsberger. Graveside services will be held at Mansfield Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Cloyd Kress. Submitted by Mike. Lofland, William L. -- William L. Lofland was born at Shelby, Ohio, April 1, 1836, and died at his home in Plymouth, January 10, 1915, having reached the age of 78 years, 9 months and 9 days. He was united in marriage to Sarah Waite of this city, July 3, 1862, since which himself and wife have been honored and respected residents of this community. He leaves his widow, four brothers and two sisters, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn his death. He had been ailing for some time and for the past few weeks suffered greatly, but through it all bore his suffering without complaint, and was patiently cared for by his devoted wife with whom he was permitted to journey through life until he was garnered to his home at a ripe age. Funeral services were held from his home Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Chas. Mott, pastor of the Methodist Episcopal church, and which was largely attended by relatives and friends of the deceased, the body being interred in Greenlawn Cemetery. -- [Plymouth Advertiser: 16 January 1915, Vol. 62, No. 9]

Logan, Byron E. -- Former resident Byron E. Logan, 81, died recently in El Paso, Texas, where he had lived for the past 19 years. He was a member of the Venus Masonic Lodge in Mansfield and was a 32nd degree Mason. He is survived by three sisters, Marie L. H. Knightstep, Carol Logan and Alice Bixby, all of El Paso. Graveside services were held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with military honors. Officiating were Pastor Richard Duerr and Masonic Lodge officials. Submitted by Mike. Logan, Cora G. Wornstaff -- LEXINGTON--Cora G. Wornstaff Logan, 86, of 3875 Ohio 546 died Saturday night in Mansfield General Hospital following an apparent heart attack at her home. She was born Nov. 5, 1904, in Leonardsburg, the daughter of the late Leslie and Geraldine Grant Wornstaff, and moved to the Lexington area 64 years ago. Mrs. Logan was a former employee of the former Garber Greenhouse at Alta, and retired in 1968 after 17 years as a cashier at the former Armstrong's Market in Lexington. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Lexington and the Women's Fellowship of her church. She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lou Wade of Lexington; a grandson, Sam E. Wade of Bellville; a brother, Harley Wornstaff of Mansfield; and three sisters, Mona Schindler of Tucson, Ariz., and Anne Smith and Helen Kern, both of Delaware, Ohio. Her husband, George H. Logan, died June 3, 1983. A private graveside service will be held Tuesday in Lexington Cemetery by the Rev. Donald Rinehart, her pastor. Submitted by Mike. Logan, David -- LEXINGTON -- David, son of Mr. & Mrs. John Logan, died Thursday of last week at 4:00 p.m. after a brief illness. He was 13 years of age and leaves a father and mother and two sisters, Lucille and Gladys. The funeral was held at the home on Church street, at 2:00 Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Logan, Elizabeth -- Woodville. With sorrow are we called upon to record the sudden death of our old friend and neighbor, Mrs. Elizabeth Logan. She died Nov. 30th. after a one week's illness, of paralysis at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. Tarleton, where she had come on a visit. The funeral, which was largely attended, was held Dec. 2d. at 2 p.m., from the home of her son, George Logan. Dr. H.L. Wiles officiated. Interment in the Mansfield Cemetery. Mother Logan was 78 years of age. She moved to Ohio from Franklin County, Pennsylvania in 1858, and settled on the old homestead which has ever since been her home. Her husband preceded her to the better land nearly 20 years ago. She was a pioneer of Richland County, highly esteemed by all who knew her. Logan, Elizabeth L. -- Friday. Elizabeth L. Logan, widow of the late Wm. Logan, died at 5:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon at her home two miles south of the city. About a week ago she sustained a stroke of paralysis, from which she was unable to rally. The deceased was born in Franklin Co., Pa., 78 years ago and has resided in this county 40 years. During the war she resided on South Diamond Street in this city. Six children survive her. The funeral services will be conducted at the residence of her son, George Logan, Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock by Dr. H.L. Wiles. Logan, Florence C. -- Mrs. Florence C. Logan, 49, wife of Frank Logan and a resident of 176 West Fifth St., died early this morning at the family home following an extended illness. She was born October 15, 1912 at Blooming Grove, coming to Mansfield 28 years ago. She was an employee of the Ward Baking Co. and a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. Surviving, besides her husband, are two sons, Charles L. Logan of Mansfield and Howard G. Kuhn of Blooming Grove; a daughter, Mrs. Willard Whisler of Mansfield; her mother, Mrs. Blanch Finney of Blooming Grove; two brothers, Charles Finney of Blooming Grove and Layton Finney of Streater, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. George Wagoner of Mansfield, and five grandchildren. The body was removed to the Wappner Funeral Home where services will be conducted Monday by her pastor, the Rev. Glenn C. Strohl. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Submitted by Mike. Logan, John W. -- John Logan, one of our highly honored and respected citizens, suffered a paralytic stroke at 10:30 Tuesday forenoon, surviving the same about five hours, dying at 3:30 on the afternoon of the same day, never having regained consciousness. He was aged 66 years and is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Harry Dawson, residing south of Plymouth. Mr. Logan followed the occupation of farming, coming to Plymouth several years ago, and proved himself to be a progressive and upright citizen and made friends with all, and will be greatly missed, not only in his home, but by all who had the honor of his acquaintance. Funeral services were held from his late home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J.H.C. Logan, John W. -- John W. Logan, eldest son of William and Elizabeth Logan, was born in Hagerstown, Md., October 10th., 1849, and died August 11th., 1914, aged 64 years, 10 months and 1 day. When six years of age, he with his parents and other members of the family moved to Mansfield and located on a farm south of the city, where he resided until the death of his father in 1874. On July 3rd., 1873, he was united in marriage to Miss Flora Burger, who with one daughter survive him. In 1877 he bought the farm now owned by Harry Dawson and wife, and resided there till 1903, when feeling his health was failing moved to Plymouth, where he lived a quiet life. In his last days he expressed himself as being ready to depart; he did not worry about eternity, but his sorrow was for his life partner, left to struggle alone. Mr. Logan was a kind husband and father, and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Logan, Laura I. -- Mrs. Laura I. Logan, 58, wife of T. Harvey Logan, died early today at the family home at 45 Cedar Street after a brief illness. Born February 26, 1876, near Butler, she came here 34 years ago. She was a member of the St. Matthews Lutheran Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, William F. Carter and Arthur Carter of Mansfield; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Bugbee of Mansfield; two step-sons, Frank Logan of Mansfield and Walter Logan of Upper Sandusky; two brothers, Joe and Frank Lape of Butler; and, three sisters, Mrs. Arthur Post of Lexington, and Mrs. Joe Schuster and Mrs. James Young, both of Mansfield. Logan, Lottie Viola (Schelker) -- Mrs. Lottie Viola Logan, 88, of 27 East Church Street, Lexington, died at her home Monday morning. Born in Washington Twp., she lived in Lexington for the past 60 years. She and her husband, John, operated Logan's Restaurant in Lexington for many years. She was a member of the Lexington Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Whitis of Newark and Gladys Logan, with whom she made her home; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Submitted by Ouoxman. Logan, Mack -- Lexington. The remains of the late Mack Logan, former resident of this place who died at his home in Mt. Clemens, Mich., at the age of 60 years were brought here for burial Friday. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. at he Presbyterian church, conducted by the Rev. N.A. Shedd. He is survived by his wife and two children, two brothers, John in Florida, Jud of this place and one sister, Mrs. John Fridgen of Fresno, Cal., who called here on account of his serious condition. Logan, Marie Ellen -- Galion -- Mrs. Marie Ellen Logan of 119 Switzer Dr., well known for her work with ceramics and flowers and for her painting, died at her home yesterday after a four-week illness. Born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, she was the daughter of Daniel E. and Jennie Stewart Shaffer. Her father was an art instructor in the Galion Public Schools. Surviving are her husband, Jay; a son, Howard S. and daughter, Mrs. Lester Diskosky, both of Galion; her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Shaffer of Mansfield; a brother, Stewart Shaffer of Muncie, Indiana; two sisters, Mrs. Harold Beeler of Bellville and Mrs. Earl Edit of Galion, and one grandchild. Mrs. Logan spent most of her life in Galion. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Burial will be in Memory Gardens north of Galion. Submitted by Mike. Logan, Mitchell -- The funeral of Mitchell Logan took place from his late residence, two miles north of Lexington, on last Saturday, the services being conducted by Rev. Smith. Mr. Logan was a well respected citizen and was cut off early in life, very suddenly, by heart trouble, which was the result of a severe attack of la grippe. Logan, Mitchell -- Friday. Mitchell Logan, aged 55 years, died very suddenly at his home, 7 miles southeast of the city, at an early hour yesterday morning. About midnight Wednesday night, Mr. Logan arose and complained of being ill. A physician was summoned, but before he arrived Mr. Logan was dead. The death is ascribed to heart disease, as the deceased suffered with heart trouble for some time. He leaves several brothers and many friends. The funeral will be held tomorrow forenoon. Logan, Susie F. -- Susie F. Logan, 62, of Galion, died Tuesday at her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 24, 1928 in Echo, Alabama. Mrs. Logan, a New London area resident for 40 years, had lived in Shelby and in Galion the past three years. She attended OSU-Mansfield and was an employee of the Former Newlon Metal Products, New London. Mrs. Logan held a degree in hotel and restaurant management. She was a member of the Greenwich United Methodist Church, president of the local Unitel Steel Workers of America, past worthy matron of the Greenwich Order of Eastern Star and a member of the North Fairfield Order of Eastern Star 40. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Howard Logan, (a native of Crestline); two sisters, Alice Brainard of New London and Nell Hines of Rochester; and a brother, Earl Riley of Wellington. Logan, William Lee -- William Lee Logan, 82, of 596 S. Main St., died Saturday in People's Hospital where he had been a patient for one day. Mr. Logan was a retired farmer who had lived in Lexington for his entire life until moving to Mansfield a year ago. He was a member of the Lexington Church of Christ. Long, Catharine -- Butler. Mrs. Catharine Long died at her home Sunday morning at 8:30, at the ripe old age of 79 years, 8 months and 7 days. She was well and healthy until a few days before she died when she began to be troubled with heart disease, the cause of her death. The funeral took place from her home in the southwest part of town, Tuesday, Rev. J. Culvert, of North Liberty, officiating. Her remains were interred in the Butler Cemetery. Long, Catherine (Teeter) -- Mrs. Catherine Long nee Teeter was born in Bedford Co., Pa., Aug. the 9th. 1813, and when 12 years she removed with her parents to Knox Co., O., walking the greater part of the distance. On the 3d day of Nov., 1831, she was married to Abraham Long with whom she was permitted to live almost 60 years, he having preceded her to the spirit land but a little over tow years. All the sons, 2 daughters, 65 grand and 25 great-grandchildren survive her, the fourth generation being represented at the funeral. Mrs. Long united with the German Baptist church in early life and has been a consistent member of that branch of the Christian church for 60 years. She was highly respected by every one that knew her. She was industrious and charitable and will be sadly missed be [sic] her children, relatives and friends who are left to mourn their loss but they mourn not as those that have no hope as she was fully resigned and anxiously waiting for the Master to call her home, that she might be laid beside the joy of her youth in the Butler cemetery. The last words she uttered were “Blessed Jesus, receive my spirit.” She was aged 79 years, 8 months and 7 days. The funeral took place from her late residence on the 18th. At 1 o’clock P.M. conducted by the Rev. J. Calvert, of North Liberty, assisted by the Rev. Bone, in the Evangelical church, from whence her remains were borne to the cemetery and placed in their last resting place to await the sound of the great trumpet at the last day. Long, Gifty Florence Smith -- Mrs. Gifty Florence Long, daughter of George and Amanda Smith, was born December 25, 1893, and died June 20, 1921, aged 27 years, 5 months and 25 days. She was united in marriage to Vernon Long, January 22, 1916. She is survived by her husband, three children, four brothers: Francis, Homer and Frank of Newville, and Harmon of Akron, and four sisters: Luella Ohler of Akron, Pearl Swank of Bellville, Erma and Hazel; and her father. She was a kind and affectionate wife and mother, beloved and highly respected by all who knew her, and will be sadly missed in the community in which she lived. The funeral services were held from her late home Wednesday, the Rev. W.S. Gibbons, of West Mansfield, officiating. Long, Jackson -- Butler. Jackson Long died Thursday morning, aged about 56 years, after a long illness with a complicated disease which baffled the doctor's skill, being unable to pronounce the exact malady. The funeral took place from the family home, south of town, Sunday morning at 9 o'clock and interment was made in the Ankenytown Cemetery under the auspices of McPherson Castle, K.G.E. The Rev. Long, Jacob -- Jacob Long, 176 Harkers St., died Saturday afternoon at the General Hospital where he had been receiving treatment for several days. He was born in Knox County March 7, 1869. He died on his fifty-sixth birthday anniversary. Mr. Long had lived in this city two years and was employed at the plant of the Mansfield Sheet and Tin Plate Company. Mr. Long is survived by his wife. Four sons; Verney, Elwood, Chester and J. H. Long, five daughters, Mrs. Vernon Stambaugh, Mrs. Lloyd Norris, Mrs. Harry Crunkelton, Cloya and Esther Long of this vicinity also his mother, five brothers, two sisters and ten grandchildren. Long, Jacob -- Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. D. Seerist Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock in the Christian church for Jacob Long, who died last Saturday in the General Hospital. Mr. Long died on his 56th birthday and is survived by his wife and nine children, four of whom live at home; also by four brothers. Jay of Fredericktown; A. D. of Wooster; Samuel, Harvey and Riley of Mansfield; and three sisters Mrs. Minnie Schuster, Mrs. Ella Bowman and Mrs. Susanne Long of Mansfield. Burial was made in the Bellville Cemetery. Long, John -- On Wednesday night, Feb. 28th., John Long met with an accident causing his death. He had attended a literary exercise at the Center Corner's school house in Morrow County, that night, and remained with a gentleman friend at the school house sometime after the exercises closed and others had started for their homes. After mounting their horses the two young men started at a brisk rate for home, and when passing a wagon on their way, the horse carrying Mr. Long fell, throwing him under the wagon, which passed over his breast crushing him beneath its weight. He was picked up and taken to the residence of Garret Selovers, and medical assistance summoned, but died from the effects f his injuries in about two hours. The young man was about 21 years of age, and lived with his aunts, the Kinsingers, near Darlington, this county. The funeral took place on Friday from the Disciple Church, Rev. Long, John W. -- John W. Long, 82, a life long resident of Richland County, died at the home of his son, E. E. Long, 187 Wood Street, early Sunday morning following an illness of two weeks. Mr. Long was born near Butler on July 1, 1849 and spent the greater part of his life near there. He was affiliated with the Evangelical church of Butler for many years. He is survived by two sons, M. L. Long, Rockford, Ill., and E. E. Long, Mansfield; two daughters, Mrs. Roger Magnuson, Mansfield, and Mrs. O. H. McCune, Ashland. Six grandchildren also survive. His wife Mary Magdaline Long preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at the Butler Evangelical church Tuesday at 2 p.m. conducted by Rev E. D. Long, Mary – Mrs. Mary J. Long, mother of Attorney B. F. Long, of Shelby, died this morning at 5:40 o’clock at the family home, one mile northeast of Shiloh, of bronchitis. She was born July 7, 1837, near Rome and before her marriage was Mary J. Hunter. Her husband, William Long, preceded her in death seven years ago. She is survived by two children, Mrs. Flora Marriott, of Shiloh, and B.F. Long, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, and one brother, Joseph M. Hunter, of Shiloh. Long, Roscoe -- Roscoe Long, aged 18 years, 5 months and 21 days, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Long, died Friday noon, after an illness covering a period of several weeks with rheumatism, which eventually affected his heart. The funeral was held Sunday at 1 p.m., conducted by Rev. E. Radabaugh at the Evangelical church. Interment was made in the Butler Cemetery. Deceased leaves a father and mother, who are almost heart-broken at his untimely death, four brothers, two sisters and many other sorrowing friends to mourn his departure. Roscoe graduated from the Butler schools with the class of 1903, and was among the brightest and best young men of town. He numbered his friends by scores, who extend heartfelt sympathy to the bereft family in their dark hour of sorrow. Long, Roscoe -- On Sunday afternoon at 10 o’clock the Evangelical church was filled to overflowing by the large number of relatives and friends who had assembled to take part in the funeral exercises of a dear friend, who had been called. Although young in years, Roscoe had risen to a much higher plane than many far his senior, and had only a future of the brightest of prospects before him. But death which is no respecter of persons and which has made so many homes lonely and disolate had again removed one of our dearest friends from among us, who was soon to be laid away in the silent tomb never again to greet and be greeted by those whom he loved and held dear to his heart. The occasion was a very sorrowful one indeed and caused many tears to flow from the eyes of those who had assembled in due respect for the dead. Having not yet arrived at the age of 19, Roscoe had finished a course at the high school in this place only a few months ago, and was one of the pleasantest and brightest pupils of the graduating class of 1903, to know him was to love him, only as a friend dear to all. His stay in this world however, was only for a little while just for a time only just long enough by the way, to form many acquaintances of fond parents, brothers, sisters and kind friends, only to be severed while yet in youthful happiness by the icy hands of death. Roscoe Long, son of Mr. & Mrs. John Long, was born May 9, 1885, and died Oct. 30, 1903, aged 18 years, 5 months and 21 days. He leaves a father, mother, two sisters, four brothers and a large circle of friends to mourn his death. Long, Roscoe -- Lexington. The news of the death of Roscoe Long on the 30th., was received with profound sorrow, as he was a model young man and very highly esteemed and respected where he was known. The funeral was held on the first at 1 p.m., at the Evangelical church, conducted by the Rev. Radebaugh, and for one so young in years was the largest funeral that the writer ever attended. It was the first death to occur in the family. Long, Roydon M. -- Roydon M. Long, son of Mr. & Mrs. E.D. Long, died Friday about 6 p.m. after a long disease. The funeral took place at 2 o'clock Sunday from the family home on Union Street, and the last sad rites were conducted by Rev. O. Spreng at the Evangelical Church, with an extremely large congregation present. Interment was made in the Butler Cemetery. Roydon was born in Butler, Nov. 11, 1879, and was aged 25 years, 8 months and 23 days. He graduated from the Butler schools in 1897, and was of a character above reproach. Roydon numbered his friends by scores, and was admired for his many sterling qualities. He was a member of the Butler band, which marched at the head of the funeral cortege with muffled drum. A dirge was rendered at his last resting place. Deceased leaves a wife and one child, parents, three sisters, Mrs. Marshall Stanton, of Bellville, Mrs. Wm. Long, William -- Bellville. William Long, one of our best respected citizens, died suddenly at his home just north of the village about noon on Saturday. He had been in the harvest field during the morning. At noon he complained of a pain in his side and instead of eating dinner went into the sitting room and laid down on a lounge. A few minutes later his wife, going in to inquire how he was, found him dead. He is supposed to have died of paralysis, as his father and other relatives died of the disease. the funeral took place on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. Services at the Universalist church, conducted by Rev. Longe, Augustus -- Died, at his residence on Depot Street, Shelby, on Tuesday morning Dec. 2d., 1873, Augustus Longe, aged 73 years and 8 months. Mr. Longe was born in Germany, and emigrated to Pa., and thence to Ohio about twenty years ago. He has been a consistent member of the U.B. Church about forty years. For a number of years he was in active business, in Shelby, in company with his son, C.A. Longe, and several years ago, the whole family removed to North Carolina, thence to Florida, and a little over a year ago, returned to Shelby with his aged companion, who yet survives him. Funeral services were held in the U.B. Church on Friday afternoon; and in the absence of the Pastor, Rev. Leonard, Rev. W.W. Anderson conducted them in a very acceptable manner. Longnacker, Edward -- Friday. Edward Longnacker, a farmer, aged about 35 years, died last night at his home, three miles northwest of the city, of pneumonia. He leaves a wife and two children. Longnecker, John -- On Nov. 3, 1883, occurred the tragedy at Shelby, wherein John Longnecker, station agent at the junction, was fatally shot while pursuing four notorious characters. Robert Johnson was the only one of them arrested and he was sent to the pen for life. Thursday his attorneys filed a petition in error before the supreme court asking a new trial. Loomis, Joshua H. -- Joshua H. Loomis died at 4:30 yesterday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. P.R. Dennison, on North Mulberry Street. When Dr. Bushnell died Mr. Loomis became the oldest citizen of this city. He was born in Ashfield, Mass., on March 13, 1808 [1803]. Mr. Loomis moved to this county 37 years ago. He has been a resident of this city for thirty years and was a member of the Baptist church for many years. Mr. Loomis came from a long-lived family. He had four brothers and one sister and the youngest of these lived to be 75 years old and was the first to die. His wife has been dead for 23 years. He leaves four children, Cushman Loomis, Miss Emma Loomis, Mrs. Dennison, all of this city, and Lyman Loomis, of Lucas. Loose, Fannie -- Mrs. Fannie Loose, aged about 80, succumbed Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Earl Heffner, at Bad Axe, Mich., where she had lived for the past fifteen years. She was the widow of William Loose and was a former Butler resident. Survivors include her daughter, a son, Richard, and several grandchildren, all of Bad Axe. The remains were brought to the George funeral home where services were held Tuesday afternoon. Burial was made in the Butler Cemetery. [Bellville Star: 16 September 1940]

Loose, Jacob -- Butler. Jacob Loose living near North Liberty (Knox Co.), died Sunday morning after a long spell of illness, at the age of 98 years. He was the oldest man in that part of the country. [Richland Shield & Banner: 15 April 1893]

Loose, Joseph -- Bellville, O., Aug. 6 -- The report reached this place this evening that Joseph Loose, residing east of this town and 2½ miles northwest of Butler, had committed suicide. An investigation proved the truth of the report. Dr. Eli Stofer, the physician summoned, found Loose lying on a bed in his house, the blood clotted around a bullet hole over his heart. Death had evidently been instantaneous, as the aim was perfect, the bullet puncturing the heart. Mrs. Loose, wife of the suicide, between her sobs, said that about 5 o'clock this afternoon she was startled by the report of a firearm in the bedroom. Investigating she found that her husband had killed himself in the presence of one of their children. Mrs. Loose assigns as the cause of her husband's suicide, despondency over the condition of his health, as he has been troubled with rheumatism in a most acute form for several moths and has been bothered with the disease for a number of years. Loose was a middle-aged man and leaves a wife and several children. He came here from Knox County about six months ago and purchased the John Teeter farm of sixty acres at Sheriff's sale. As his health continued poor he became satisfied that he would not live long. Accordingly he held a public sale on his farm last Saturday and sold all his stock and farming implements, intending to quit the business. There is nothing known here of Loose's past life. Lord, D.H. -- DIED -- D.H. LORD on January 19th., 1869, aged 77 years. Mr. Lord was born at Lynn, Connecticut, September, 1791. At an early age he was engaged in the city of New York as a dry good clerk, and was sent to New Orleans with a cargo of goods to sell on commission. The yellow fever prevailing there to the extent of an epidemic, he returned to New York, and at the age of twenty, commenced the study of Dentistry, with Mr. Greenwood of that city. He afterwards removed to Auburn, New York -- studied medicine -- attended lectures and graduated. He practiced in the vicinity of Auburn, until after his marriage, when he settled in Skaneateles, New York, where he resumed the practice of his profession, until he arrived at about 60 years of age when he removed to Plymouth, Ohio, and shortly afterwards to Shelby. He was a clerk in the Quarter-master's Department during the war of 1812, and was one among the number, who welcomed the old Frigate "Iron Sides" (Constitution), as well as the numerous privateers, brought as prizes into New York Harbor. Lorentz, Dorothy R. - Mansfield- Funeral services for Dorothy R. Yingling Lorentz, 79, of 1127 Bellmar Drive, will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church by the Rev. Mrs. Lorentz died Tuesday evening in Woodlawn Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born March 16, 1910 in Mansfield, living here all of her life. She was a secretary at First English Lutheran Church and Lakewood Racquet Club and was bookkeeper at McCready and Sons. Mrs. Lorentz was an active member of first English Lutheran Church and its choir, Homebuilders Class, Mothers and Daughters, Luther League and Florence Welty Missionary Society. Surviving are two sons, David G. of Beverly Hills, Calif. And Jerry of Mansfield; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glen Yingling of Florida. Lortz, Philip -- HANGED HIMSELF. Philip Lortz, an unmarried German, aged twenty-eight, who, since his arrival in this city from Germany about three years ago, has worked at his trade as tailor for B. Sens & Son, committed suicide, late in the afternoon on Saturday, by hanging himself to a beam in the loft of the stable on the lot of Peter Koch, at 105 South East Diamond Street. For some time after he had taken up his residence in the city, Lortz boarded with the Koch family until his dissipated habits became unendurable and he was told to look elsewhere for accommodations. He then moved next door to board with John Klein, where he lived until the time of his suicide. During the week previous Lortz had been on a protracted spree and was last seen in a saloon on Friday night. On going to his room on Saturday morning, Mrs. Klein found some of his clothing, his watch and other personal effects lying in a heap, but he failed to make his appearance during the day. Between six and seven o'clock in the evening his body, still warm, was found hanging in the stable as above stated, he evidently having been secreted there during the day and having hanged himself but a short time previous to his discovery. The deceased is said to have been well educated and to have employed very much of his time in reading books, of which he had quite a large and well selected library. Lortz has at various times told his cousin, a resident of the city, that he would in all probability end his life by suicide, and so he did. The body was taken in charge by the township trustees and the interment was made, without religious service from the undertaking rooms of C. Lory, ---- -- Wednesday. A sad accident occurred two miles north of Independence, in Worthington Township, last week, by which a young son of Solomon Lory lost his life. Mr. Lory and the boy, who was about 9 or 10 years old, were cutting logs on a hillside, when one of the logs started to roll down hill. Lotthammer, Edmund Herbert -- Edmund Herbert Lotthammer, 48, of 1440 Orchard Park Road, Lexington, died Wednesday morning in Mansfield General Hospital after a brief illness. He was born Feb. 22, 1936 in Gemmrigheim west Germany and came to this country and the Mansfield area in 1957. Mr. Lotthammer was a lithographer with 20th Century Printing , Lexington. He is survived by his wife Heidi Haub Lotthammer who he married on December 23, 1960; two sons, Fred of Dayton and Mark, at home; two daughters, Tanja and Christa Lotthammer, both at home; mother, Mrs. Hedwig (Sigrest) Lotthammer of Gemmrigheim, West Germany, and a sister, Mrs. Gerhard Christa Mueller of Loechgau, West Germany. Lotz, Laurel Jean—Mansfield. Mrs. Gene R. Featherly, 56, formerly Laurel Jean Lotz of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Friday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Born in Mansfield Feb. 24, 1924, she was a member of the First Lutheran Church and had worked for the DeYarmon Insurance Agency. Surviving besides her husband in Fort Lauderdale are two sons, Terry of Atlanta, Ga., and Gary of Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Halbax and Mrs. Dorothy Zappone, both of Mansfield; and her mother, Mrs. Pauline Lotz of Mansfield. Loud, E.B. -- Dr. E.B. Loud, one of the most prominent American dentists in France, died at Paris, this morning, a cablegram to that effect having been received by Dr. Gilbert W. DeCamp from Frank S. Lahm to-day. Dr. Loud will be well remembered in this city. He was a brother of Mrs. Alemena H. DeCamp and studied dentistry in Mansfield with the late Dr. Moses DeCamp. He has been a resident of Paris for about 30 years, having a fame in his profession extending all over Europe. He was through the Franco-Prussian war and various decorations and medals have been conferred upon him by the French government. He had the rare distinction of being made a knight of St. Gregory by the Pope. Dr. Loud has been in ill health for some months past and was preparing to visit America with Frank S. Lahm, formerly of Mansfield, who now resides in Paris. Mrs. DeCamp, who had been making preparations for the arrival and entertainment of her brother, is prostrated by the unexpected news of his death. The deceased was 56 years of age. Lovett, David B. -- Gored to death by his Holstein bull, was the fate of David B. Lovett, Tuesday afternoon, near Crestline. About 4 o'clock Mr. Lovett went to his barn to feed his stock and found that his large Holstein bull had in some manner gotten across the feed trough and was standing in the passage way. Mr. Lovett went to the animal and for quite awhile endeavoring to get it back into the stall, when suddenly the beast turned on him and felled him to the floor and gored the unfortunate and helpless man. Mr. Lovett in some manner managed to extricate himself, staggering to the house and said to his wife, who came running to him: "The bull has gored me to death" after this he dropped to the floor and within a short time he was dead. David B. Lovett was very well known in Crestline, living 1½ miles east of that city. He has been a dairyman for the past twenty years and was also well known in this city. Lowenstein, Jacob -- Jacob Lowenstein, father of Benjamin and Samuel Lowenstein, the well known clothiers, died at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Mr. Lowenstein was 75 years of age and had retired from active business several years ago. For some time he has made his home with his son Samuel, at 1359 North Market Street. Isaac Lowenstein was absent from the city when his father passed away. He was at once notified of the sad occurrence by telegraph and will arrive in the city, tomorrow. Lucas, John -- Bellville. John Lucas died at his residence on Bell St., Friday morning, of consumption, aged 36 years, 5 months and 4 days, and was buried at Johnsville on Sunday. Mr. Lucas was a member of the Johnsville Lodge, I.O.O.F., and during his long sickness was kindly cared for by members of that lodge and the Bellville Lodge. The funeral ceremonies were conducted by the order, some twenty following the remains from here to the place of burial. The Johnsville Lodge was out in full numbers to pay proper respect to a departed brother. Remarks at the house were made by Rev. W.W. Anderson and at the Shauck's Church, Johnsville, by Rev. M.L. Luce, Mrs. T.C. -- Independence ... The wife of Rev. T.C. Luce, one of the new E.A. preachers lately appointed to this circuit was taken very sick last Monday evening and died Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning her husband left with the remains for Illinois, her former home. During her short residence with us she has won the esteem of all who were so fortunate as to become acquainted with her. Her age was about 24 years. The Rev. Ludwig, Adam -- Sunday. Adam Ludwig died suddenly at 9 o'clock last night at his home, two miles west of the city, of heart disease. Lurscher, John -- John Lurscher, who was accidentally shot in the shoulder while out hunting Oct. 24, died Saturday p.m. at 2:45 o'clock at his home on East Fourth Street. The injuries which he sustained brought on lockjaw, causing his death. He has been in a critical condition for several days. Efforts were made to save his life by the use of anti-toxin, but it did not avail. Lurz, Ada -- 81, widow of Elmer Lutz, died early this morning at her home, 207 Harker St., following an extended illness. She was born May 26, 1874 near Mifflin, and spent her entire life in this vicinity. She was a member of the Mayflower Congregational Church, Order of Maccabees, Sons and Daughters of Liberty, Degree of Pocahontas, Rebecca Lodge and Golden Age Club. Surviving are a son, Clarence C. Luse, Mrs. Rev. -- Independence. Tuesday, June 3rd., the wife of Rev. Luse died after a very brief illness. The best of medical aid was summoned, but to no avail. The remains were taken to Napierville, Ill., for interment. Rev. W.A. Shisler will hold a memorial service at the Evangelical church next Sunday evening. Rev. Lutz, Earl H. - Word has been received here of the death Wednesday of Earl H. Lutz, 66, former Mansfielder, in San Diego, Calif. Mr. Lutz moved to California 14 years ago. Lutz, Fred P. -- Fred P. Lutz, 90 Blymer Ave., died at People's Hospital this morning following an illness of two years. Born in Steubenville Nov. 12, 1880, he came to Mansfield from Cincinnati 10 years ago. He was a retired division sales manager of the National Cash Register Co. He was a member of the Portsmouth Lodge of the F & AM. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Marjorie C. Lutz and one daughter, Miss Ilene Lutz of Cincinnati. Funeral services will be private. She leaves besides her husband, three sons, Jacob E. of California, John W. of Toledo, and Harry M. of Cleveland and two sisters and three brothers. Lutz, Mary Jane Seaman -- Mary Jane Seaman Lutz, lifelong resident of this community, died Sunday evening, at the age of 93 years, 3 months, and 11 days. She was the eldest child of Peter and Lydia Dickerson Maring and was born Oct. 9, 1852 about two miles east of Shiloh. On Feb. 24th, 1881 she was united in marriage to Samuel S. Seaman, who departed this life Nov 11th, 1911. To this union were born four sons, Frank and Charles of Shiloh, the other two dying in infancy. On Feb. 25th, 1930 she was united in marriage to W. Lutz who died Feb. 20, 1933. Mrs. Lutz lived a quiet home life in the community in which she had lived and was a life long member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are the sons, Frank and Charles and eight grandchildren; also fourteen great-grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon from the Mc Quate Funeral home, with Rev. E. R. Haines officiating. Burial was made at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Submitted by Terry W. Tuesday after a lingering illness. Mrs. Lutz, who made her home with her son, Russell Lutz, 175 Marion avenue, was born in Ashland county, Nov. 24, 1864. She was the widow of Samuel Lutz. She was a member of the First Lutheran church. Ruth chapter of the Eastern Star and Naomi Shrine. Besides her son, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Kell of Mansfield, and a brother, William Marks of Wooster. Funeral services will be held at the Finefrock funeral home at 2 p. m. Lybarger, Daniel -- DIED -- February 3, 1869, DANIEL LYBARGER, aged 83 years, 9 months and 12 days. The deceased was born in Bedford County, Pennsylvania, April 21st., 1785. In 1830 he emigrated to Knox County, Ohio. In 1832 he came to Richland County, and opened a home in the then almost unbroken forest, with all the disadvantages of pioneer life around him and his then small family. With the accustomed energy of those pioneer days, he soon transformed his forest home into a beautiful and valuable farm, upon which he spent his manhood and the declining years of his pious and useful life. There he long lived to enjoy the fond endearments of family and home, and there he at last laid down his pilgrim staff, and gently fell asleep in Jesus, to awake in the new life of the Lords saints in glory. In early life, probably at about 20 years of age, he was confirmed a member of the Lutheran Church. Thus for a period of 60 years at least, did the seeds of early piety continue to grow, ever developing richer fruits of faith, until all was fully consummated in his enlarged Christian experience, holy life, and complete readiness at any time to answer the Master's call to the heavenly home. His piety evidenced itself, in a quiet and orderly life, in universal charity to all believers, and a devoted attachment, faith and reverence for the Church and her ordinances, as well as an ardent love for God's ministries. His death was sudden, having been called by a paralytic stroke, which he survived only fourteen hours, during which time he was speechless, but seemingly conscious. Closing his eyes as in sleep, he gently passed away into the calm repose of death's peaceful slumbers. His death was unexpected, as during the day of his attack he seemed more than usually well, and spent most of the day in reading Fleetwood's Life of Christ. His funeral was largely attended. Lybarger, Eliza (Carson) French -- Eliza Carson was born in Columbiana County, July 28, 1832, died Jan. 21, 1915, aged 82 years, 5 months and 2? days. She moved to Seneca County with her parents about 1835. Was married to James French, Nov. 13, 1856, to which union six children were born, three of whom survive her: John F. of Shiloh, Frank W. of Columbus, and Ada J. Shephard of Plymouth. Mrs. French was left a widow April 26, 1868 and was married to Dr. S.C. Lybarger of Ganges, May, 1884. She was again left a widow, May, 1904. She united with the U.B. church in girlhood and later transferred her membership to the Reformed church at Ganges, to which she remained a faithful member to the last. Lybarger, Frederick P. -- Mansfield. Frederick P. Lybarger, 67, of 1116 Becky Drive died Friday night at Peoples Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Lybarger was born April 6, 1924, in Shelby, living in the Mansfield area since 1945. He retired as foreman of the Sign and Signal Department for the City of Mansfield after 26 years of service. Mr. Lybarger was a member of the First church of the Brethren and a veteran of World War 11, serving in the US Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. Surviving are his wife, Mary K. Haley Lybarger of Mansfield, a daughter, Karen S. Eichler of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra L. and Ronald E. Gonter of Mansfield; three grandchildren, Eric M. And Troy J. Eichler and Andrew S. Gonter; three sisters, Mary Shepherd, Madelyn Shepherd and Barbara Gwirtz, all of Shelby; and a brother, James Lybarger of Shelby. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Frances Waghorn Lybarger; a sister, a brother, and a grandson, Mark J. Gonter. Lybarger, Job -- The death of Job Lybarger, one of the oldest residents of this city, says the Shelby Globe of December 24th., occurred last night at midnight at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C.A. Mr. Lybarger had been in ill health for the past few weeks, and for the past few days his condition was serious. Mr. Lybarger was born at Gambier, Knox County, January 18, 1834, and was aged 80 years, 11 months and 5 days at the time of his death. Lybarger, Lewis -- Ganges. After an illness of several months, Lewis Lybarger, a well known and universally respected citizen of this community died Sunday afternoon, aged 79 years. He had been ill the greater part of the winter, but not confined to his bed until about a week preceding his death. He was a member of the Reformed church for a number of years and was a devoted Christian. The deceased leaves a wife and five children -- Oliver, Andrew, Valentine, Mrs. Ad Weiser, Mrs. William Cover -- to mourn the departure of a benevolent husband and father. Lybarger, Mrs. Lewis -- Shelby. Mrs. Lewis Lybarger, aged 80 years, died Saturday morning at the home of Ad Weiser, four miles east of Shelby, of general debility. Lybarger, Oliver -- Oliver Lybarger died very suddenly at 12:15 o'clock Monday afternoon, at the family home, one-half mile east of London, in Cass Township. He arose as usual in the morning, and seemed to be in the best of health. He attended to his chores and ate a hearty breakfast. Shortly after breakfast he began to feel sick and a physician was summoned. Upon examination the physician discovered he had suffered a severe stroke of apoplexy, which was the direct cause of death. Mr. Lybarger had not been in the best of health for the past few months. Death came very suddenly and unexpectedly. He was aged 68 years at the time of his death, and is survived by his wife and five children. Mrs. Lewis Patterson of this city, being one of the surviving daughters. Lybarger, Uriah -- Died, at Ganges, Ohio, January 22d., 1873, Uriah Lybarger, aged 42 years, 3 months and 9 days. His last illness was short, but so complicated as to baffle all successful medical aid. He was a worthy member of the Reformed Church, and an Elder at the time of his death. His quiet and unpretending Christian life was commendable. An immense concourse of friends and acquaintances attended the funeral service at the London church. Lydy, Elizabeth -- Died, in Bellville, on Monday, Oct. 7th., Mrs. Elizabeth Lydy, in the 76th. year of her age. The funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church, Wednesday, Oct. 9th., at 11 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. S.S. Kauffman, assisted by the Rev. C.P. Nash. Lydy, Elizabeth -- Bellville -- Elizabeth Lydy was born in Blair Co., Pa., December 16th., 1813 and died October 7th., 1889, aged 75 years, 9 months and 21 days. Mrs. Lydy's history is rather unique. She was one of a family of eighteen children. When she was quite young her mother died and the care of the family devolved upon her. Ten of the children were yet at home, the youngest being but three years of age. She became, as it were, a mother to her brothers and sisters, and for this is surely to be commended. She came to Wooster, O., in 1844, and about a year later to Richland Co., where she has since resided. On January 19th., 1851, she was married to Michael Lydy, but their married life was short, Mr. Lydy being called unto the spirit world July 29th., 1856. Two children survive her: Dr. A.R. Lydy of Chicago, O., and Leah C. Lydy of this village. She united with the Lutheran church in early youth and wherever she has lived, has always been a worthy and respected member. The funeral services were held at the Lutheran church, Wednesday, October 8th., conducted by Rev. S.S. Kaufman, assisted by Rev. C.P. Lynch, J.W. -- Mr. J.W. Lynch, aged 56 years, died Wednesday afternoon at his home on the E.K. Trauger farm. Lynch, W.S. -- Prof. W.S. Lynch, for the past seven years superintendent of the Shelby Public Schools, passed away at 5:45 o'clock Tuesday evening at his home on Wilson Avenue, Shelby, after having been ill for the past three months. Mention has been made from time to time of his serious illness. Prof. Lynch was one of the best known educators in this part of the state. He was prominent in educational work and took a great interest in institute work. He was formerly president of the Richland County Teachers' Association and vice-president of the Northwestern Ohio Teachers' Association. Prof. Lynch was born at West Bedford, O., Sept. 18, 1861, and was in the 44th. year of his age. He was educated in the district school and from there by his own exertions he worked his way through college, graduating from Dennison University at Granville and later from the Ohio Wesleyan University. He was superintendent of the Danville, Johnsville and Bellville public schools and came to Shelby seven years ago from Bellville. Mr. Lynch is survived by his widow and three children, Lottie, Carl and Ray. Prof. Lynch was a well known Mason, being a member of the Blue Lodge, the Chapter and of Mansfield Commandery No. 21, Knights Templar. He was identified with other fraternal orders being a member of the Knights of Pythias, the Jr. O.U.A.M. and the Knights and Ladies of Security. Prof. Lynch was an earnest member of the M.E. church, a member of the official board and formerly superintendent of the Sunday School. The body will lie in state from 2 until 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon, at his Wilson avenue home to afford the teachers and pupils of the schools, as well as citizens of Shelby in general, an opportunity to view the body. The funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 8 o'clock, in charge of Mansfield Commandery, No. 21, Knights Templar. The Rev. A.E. Winters, pastor of the M.E. church, will deliver the eulogy and at 10 o'clock the remains will be taken to Coshocton for burial.
